Chapter I/CEO Setup Assistant
Path B

CEO Setup Assistant (Manual)

Full control over your AI company structure. Describe your goal in detail, and the CEO agent builds a custom plan from scratch.

~10 minutes

What Is the CEO Setup Assistant?

The CEO Setup Assistant is AgentAGI's manual company creation flow. Instead of using a pre-built template, you describe your goal in detail, and the CEO agent (Atlas) analyzes your requirements, detects the roles you need, and creates a fully custom company plan from scratch.

This path gives you full control over every aspect of your AI company — agent roles, system prompts, project structure, task priorities, and budgets. You can reorder, edit, and approve everything before anything is created.

Best for

Experienced users, complex or multi-faceted projects, and anyone who wants granular control over agent roles, hierarchies, and initial task assignments.

How It Works

The CEO Setup Assistant follows a 5-step flow. Each step gives you more control and visibility than the template path.

Step 1

Describe Your Goal

From the Dashboard, open the CEO Setup Assistant. Describe your goal in detail — the more specific, the better. For example: "I'm building a SaaS for independent dental practices with 3-10 locations. The CEO should set up developers, a marketing agent for SEO/local ads, and a support agent. Tech stack: React + Node.js + PostgreSQL. Target: US dental practices struggling with insurance claim denials."

Step 2

CEO Analyzes & Plans

The CEO agent (Atlas) analyzes your description and identifies required roles from keywords. It detects if you need CTO/developers, marketers, sales agents, support, analysts, and more. The CEO then creates a custom plan with: projects (with priorities and subdirectories), agent roster (names, roles, system prompts, skills), initial tasks for each agent, and routines (cron-based recurring tasks).

Step 3

Review & Customize

You see the full plan in a review screen. You can: reorder project priorities, select which project starts first, edit agent names, roles, and system prompts, adjust budgets per agent, and modify task lists. Nothing is created until you approve.

Step 4

Create Everything

Click "Create everything." The CEO bootstraps the entire company structure: agents with appropriate system prompts and skills, projects with subdirectories, initial tasks based on goal type (tech vs non-tech), company-level goals, and reporting hierarchy (agents report to CEO).

Step 5

CEO Starts Planning

The CEO wakes up and starts the first sprint. Agents begin their heartbeat cycles, working through their assigned tasks. Your dashboard shows the company, projects, tasks, and real-time activity logs.

What the CEO Creates Automatically

When you approve and click create, the CEO agent builds everything needed for your company to start operating:

Projects

With priorities and subdirectories

Agent Roster

Names, roles, system prompts, skills

Company Goals

Mission-aligned objectives

Initial Tasks

Based on goal type (tech vs non-tech)

Routines

Cron-based recurring tasks

Reporting Hierarchy

reportsTo chain, agents report to CEO

The CEO handles everything. From role detection and prompt generation to project structure and task creation. You stay in control as the board of directors, approving strategy while your AI team executes.

How Role Detection Works

The CEO agent scans your description for keywords and context clues to determine which roles your company needs. Here is how it maps descriptions to roles:

If Your Description Mentions
Role Created
"build", "develop", "code", "deploy", "tech stack"
CTO / Developer (Forge)
"content", "SEO", "social media", "blog", "marketing"
CMO / Marketer (Echo, Sage, Pixel)
"sales", "outreach", "leads", "pipeline"
Sales (Hunter, Relay)
"support", "customer", "help", "inbox"
Support (Harbor)
"analytics", "revenue", "metrics", "dashboard"
Finance / Analyst (Mira)
"design", "UI", "brand", "visual"
Designer (Pixel)

Full control. You can add, remove, or modify any agent after the AI creates the plan. The CEO's detection is a starting point — you make the final decisions.

Pro tip

Start with a template even if you plan to customize. It's faster to modify an existing configuration than to build from scratch. You can always add, remove, or modify agents after launch.
